Morgantown, WV -- Libera has opened a new office in Charleston, WV and hired two full-time staff to work from this location. Located at the American Job Center on Leon Sullivan Way in Charleston, WV, the new office space will allow Libera to expand their services to more young women and girls across West Virginia. Libera’s goal is to open a total of 6 regional offices by 2030. Libera has welcomed two new team members to operate from this office, Sarah Weimer as the Regional Coordinator, and Ashley Fizer as the area’s Licensed Certified Social Worker. “They [women in the community] have the power to make the difference, and it really just starts with listening and loving people where they’re at,” Sarah Weimer said.

With the addition of Ashley Fizer as Libera’s Licensed Social Worker, the organization can work on introducing Libera’s programs into more schools in and around the Charleston area. “I’d love to see Libera in more schools, and I’d love to be able to help with that process. I think what they’re doing is great… more schools and students could benefit from the program.” Ashley Fizer said.

The team is hopeful about the impact they can have in the region with this new office location and have already initiated work in local schools and facilities.

The new location will run programs similar to the ones the Libera office in Morgantown offers, including one-on-one mentoring and Libera groups for girls. “We are looking for women in our community to join us. To be involved as mentors and to help us change the future for West Virginia and build a brighter future for youth... They can make all the difference,” Weimer said.

Applications to be trained as a mentor can be filled out online at Libera’s website, www.liberawv.com.
