Morgantown, WV, September 25, 2024 -- Libera is proud to announce that the organization will be hosting three AmeriCorps VISTA Service Members through the West Virginia’s Promise Youth Alliance sponsorship. During each VISTA member’s year-long service, they will be supporting projects designed to enhance Libera’s programs and organizational capacity. Some of these projects include recruiting and managing volunteer mentors, promoting Libera’s impact and mission through storytelling and outreach, and creating additional educational resources for schools and families.
Kristen Young, Education Coordinator, will be supporting the Lila Bear Explor(her) Club, Libera’s social enterprise that provides STEAM learning activities, and developing lesson plans and educational content for schools and families. Emily Major, Volunteer & Outreach Coordinator, will be supporting the launch of Libera’s new Volunteer Management System (VMS) and recruiting and engaging with Libera’s community of volunteer mentors. Kyra Nadzady, Communications & Marketing Coordinator, will be helping to raise awareness of Libera’s impact in the community through storytelling, marketing, and multimedia communication.
Libera is grateful to partner with WV’s Promise Youth Alliance on this opportunity to host AmeriCorps VISTA members and looks forward to the impact the service members will provide to the organization and the community.
